IMMIGRANTS
During the year 95 visits were made to long-stay immigrants.
The medical officers at ports obtain the destination addresses of
immigrants and these are forwarded to the district concerned. The immigrants
are visited and they and their dependants are advised to register with a
general practitioner with a view to chest X-rays. Printed cards in six
different languages are handed out in order to assist in the interview.
Whilst the figures have somewhat increased during this year there is
still not a major problem in this area.
