"AT RISK" REGISTER OR "OBSERVATION REGISTER"
The "At Risk" Register was commenced in May 1966. This scheme is an attempt
to give special care and attention by doctors, health visitors and all those
concerned, to any children who have been born with a possible hazard to normal
development. It is our intention to review these children frequently during
their first year of life. As they adjust to their environment, it will probably
be found that by the end of their first year, a large proportion will no longer
be "at risk" from the medical point of view.
As the scheme has been functioning for only a few months, it is much too
soon to give an assessment of its value.
