Maternal Mortality
There was one tragic maternal death during the year following
a self-induced abortion. The woman concerned sought no
medical care.
Loss of Infant Life
The infant death rate in 1960 was 18.07 as compared with
28.95 for 1959. The national figures for these years were 21.7
and 22.2 respectively.
