The filled land is available for development and warehouse
type buildings are being erected by private enterprise.
Pet Animals Act, 1951
During the year 16 inspections were made of the eight
licensed premises in the Borough.
All the premises are satisfactorily complying with the
above Act, which requires provision for fire prevention,
proper sanitary conditions throughout the premises and suitable
housing and feeding facilities for the pet animals kept
for sale.
OFFENSIVE TRADES
The Diseases of Animals (Waste Foods) Order, 1957
The Council, at the request of the Essex County Council,
agreed to take over their functions with respect to this Order
as from 1st January 1958.
Your public health inspectors who already visit the three
large piggeries in the Borough, have carried out the duties
of inspection and control.
Throughout the year there have been 24 visits to the
eight offensive trade premises in the Borough.
