The measurement of air pollution has been going on in Barking
for 10 years and below is given a chart showing the average
solid deposit in tons per square mile per month for each
of the last ten years. It is gratifying to be able to record a reduction
over that period despite an increase in industrial activity and an
increase in the number of dwellings in the Borough.
