who has given us most valuable help with the preparation of visual
aids. This course, which was repeated later in the year for those
who could not be spared on the first occasion, was of the greatest
interest and stimulation to us all. Since then various members of
the health team have been more than usually active in giving lectures
to various bodies in the town, and they have made good use both of
the experience gained in the use of visual aids and of certain sound
filmstrips which have also been developed by the Central Council for
Health Education.

Population
The population of Barking at mid-1954, according to the Registrar
General's estimate, was 76,580. This shows a further decrease from
the figure of 78,170 at the 1951 Census.
