RODENT CONTROL IN SEWERS. The biannual treatment of
sewers was carried out during the months of May and November,
Whilst the results on both occasions were satisfactory
the evidence of heavy infestation in certain areas, most of
which are in the older parts of the district, gives cause for
serious thought. The following tables show the degree of
infestation found to exist

Test baiting of 70 manholes throughout the newer parts
of the district took place in April, and only evidence of minor
infestation was found.
Having regard to the result of the treatment in May, it
was considered necessary to apply a special treatment to the
sewers in the heavily infested areas. This was carried out
with the approval of the Ministry in July using an alternative
typo of bait base poison. The result of this treatment was as
follows:-
