this sen ice. I am happy to be able to say that whereas at the beginning of the
year there were only seven casual home helps on the panel, by the end of 1947
this number had increased to 25.
It will be remembered that in 1945, in view of the shortage of home helps, a
scheme was introduced for the payment by you of private home helps attending at
confinement cases where one of your home helps was not available. This scheme
continued during 1947 but, having regard to the increased number of home helps
