STATISTICS AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS OF THE AREA.
(1) BIRTHS.
The total number of live births during the year was
1017, as compared with 1104 in the year 1940.
There were 30 still births, the number for the
previous year being 35.
(2) DEATHS.
(a) General.
There were 362 deaths registered in Barking during
1941. Of these 25 were deaths of non-residents.
Barking residents to the number of 326 died elsewhere
during the year. Including the latter and excluding
the deaths of visitors, the net number of deaths was
as follows:-
