(d) Travelling Facilities.
Once again I regret to report that there has been
no improvement in the standard of travelling conditions to
and from Barking; in fact the reduction in the number of
trains and buses at the beginning of the war meant that the
travelling facilities deteriorated. Black-out conditions,
too, tended to make travelling more irksome.
