(4) ADULTERATION, ETC.
The Food and Drugs (Adulteration) Act, 1928, and
kindred Acts and Regulations are administered in this
district by the Essex County Council.
I am indebted to Mr. A. Horsnell, Chief Food and
Drugs Officer for the Metropolitan Area of the Essex
County Council, for the particulars of Samples purchased
and submitted for analysis during the year.
These samples are submitted for chemical examination
to Dr. Bernard Dyer, the County Analyst, Great Tower
Street, London.
The following samples were examined during the year:—

In three cases prosecutions were instituted during
the period covered. Two of these were in relation to
the sale of fish in the Central Market, Barking, to the
prejudice of the purchaser, in which cases your own
officers were engaged.
