INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
1. MILK SUPPLY AND ICE-CREAM.
(a) Milk Supply.—Registered with the Authority are 81 retail purveyors, of
whom 15 occupy premises outside the district.
There are no cowkeepers in the district.
The following table sets out the results of the bacteriological examination of various samples, from which it will be seen that, out of a total of 50, five were found to be unsatisfactory :—

There were during the year 46 samples of milk submitted to biological
examination for the presence of tubercle. Three of the 46 samples were found to
be infected and the necessary action taken.
The following table shows the number of licences granted during the year for the sale of graded milks under the Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1923 :—
