MATERNAL MORTALITY.
Two maternal deaths occurred during 1929, the deaths being
certified as follows:—
(a) Cardiac failure 1
(b) Syncope 1
NEO-NATAL MORTALITY.
The number of deaths of infants under four weeks of age was
28, compared with 24 for the previous year in Barking.
STILL-BIRTHS.
Of the total notifications received under the Notification of Births
Act, 20 related to stillborn children, giving a percentage of 2.8
compared with 1.7 in 1928. In addition, 6 still-births were not
notified.
Investigation of the health visitors elicited the following information

All the mothers were engaged in household duties at home.
