NEONATAL MORTALITY.
It is gratifying to note a considerable reduction in the neonatal
mortality during the year. The number of deaths of infants under
four weeks of age was 15, giving a rate of 18.3 per thousand, compared
with 30.3 for the previous year in Barking, and 32.2 for
England and Wales during 1925.
It is hoped that, with the extension of ante-natal care, this low rate will be maintained.
