In the absence of local hospital facilities, this clinic has
supplied among school children an undoubted need within recent
years.
Three nurses on the staff of the Plaistow Maternity Charity
attend daily from a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The work of the
practitioner is encroached upon as little as possible, although
cases do at times arise which must under certain circumstance
he relieved.
There car be little doubt, I think, that the ultimate utility
of the various medical and surgical measures prosecuted is impaired
to an appreciable extent by the faulty arrangement and
structural condition of the premises. The building, which is of
a temporary character, is disposed Court-wise, forming three
sides of a square, efficient lighting and ventilation of the different
rooms being in consequence almost impossible. Added to this
