District Council.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Annual Report
dealing with the sanitary work carried out during the year 1907.
Inspections.
The number of Inspections made during the year was 2,009,
these include house to house inspections, houses in which Infectious
Disease occurred, houses which have been the subject of complaint,
and miscellaneous inspections.
In 1,460 of the houses inspected sanitary defects were
discovered, and to effect the remedying of these defects it was
necessary to serve 732 preliminary and 92 statutory notices and
it also involved the writing of a number of letters. In a number
