Special Transport to School
Section 55 of the Education Act, 1944, makes provision for transport to facilitate
the attendance of pupils at school and, during the year, special transport was recommended
on medical grounds for 43 children attending ordinary schools. The length of time for which
transport was required varied according to the needs of the individual cases.
Home Tuition
During the year 11 children were recommended home tuition, under Section 56 of
the Education Act, 1944, for varying periods in accordance with their disability.
