Special Transport to School
Section 55 of the Education Act, 1944, provides for the provision of transport
to facilitate the attendance of pupils at school and, during the year, special
transport was recommended on medical grounds for 24 children attending ordinary
schools. The length of time for which the transport was required varied according
to the needs of the individual cases.
Home Tuiton
During the year 20 children were recommended home tuiton, under Section 56
of the Education Act, 1944, for varying periods in accordance with their disability.
