Family Planning
From August, a comprehensive Family Planning Service, including a domiciliary service,
was provided through the medium of the Family Planning Association acting as the Council's
full agent. The service was available at the following centres:-
Family Planning Association,
Barnet and District Clinic,
133 Wood Street,
Barnet.
Watling (Edgware) Clinic,
Approach Road, Station Road,
Edgware.
West Hendon Clinic,
215 The Broadway, N.^' 9.
Oak Lane Clinic,
East Finchley, N.2.
Cervical Cytology
This service continued during the year at the following clinics: Torrington, Childs Hill,
East Barnet, Watling, Vale Drive, West Hendon, Oak Lane and Edgware.
Fortnightly sessions were held at the clinics and all women who attended had a full
examination of the breasts, abdomen and pelvis. 1282 patients attended for the first time during
the year and in every case the patient and her doctor were notified of the result of the test.

There were 4 positive results and these patients were referred, through their general practitioners, to gynaecologists for further investigation.
