Congenital Malformations
From January 1964 information has been collected about congenital defects by local
health authorities and since that time 261 cases of malformation have been notified in
respect of children born to parents normally resident within the area of the London
Borough of Barnet. A classified breakdown of this figure is given below.
The names of all children suffering from congenital malformation are added to the
Observation Register to ensure that they are examined at the appropriate time and that
treatment is given where required.
