ESTABLISHMENTS FOR MASSAGE AND SPECIAL TREATMENT
The total number of establishments registered at the end of the year under Part XII
of the Middlesex County Council Act, 1944, was 27.
PERSONS IN NEED OF CARE AND ATTENTION
Provision is made under Section 47 of the National Assistance Act 1948 as
amended by the National Assistance (Amendment) Act 1951 for securing the necessery
care and attention in hospital or other place, e.g. residential accommodation provided
under Part III of the Act, for persons who are infirm or suffering from a serious chronic
disease and who are unable to give themselves sufficient care nor are receiving it
from other sources.
Fortunately, it was not necessary to apply the statute in respect of any case during
the year.
