I should like to remind the Council that vaccination (immunisation)
to prevent Poliomyelitis has been carried out for the first
time in this district, and only amongst selected groups. It is too
early yet to assess the value of this safeguard but I hope to do so
in a later report.
I should like to take this opportunity of expressing to the staff
of the Public Health Department my appreciation of their cooperation
and loyalty throughout the year.
