The Sanitary Inspectors have continued to devote a very,
large amount of their time to work of meat inspection at the
slaughterhouses, so that other work of the department has suffered
accordingly.
The difficulties of the department have been accentuated by,
the inability to fill three vacancies and by a further reduction in
the inspectorial staff as a result of two resignations.
