BIRTHS.
Table VII. gives particulars of the births registered and
notified in the district, and the births belonging to the district
which have occurred and been registered outside the district.
The total number of deaths are those registered during
the calendar year and are corrected for inward and outward
transfers.
The birth-rate was 15.4 per 1000 inhabitants, and it was
7 per 1000 lower than that of 1927.
With the exception of the two war years 1917 and 1918,
it is the lowest birth-rate on record.
