DEATH RATE.
General mortality.—There were 430 deaths registered. The recorded general death rate was 8 . 6 per 1,000 of the population. The London death rate was 15 . 2

This is the lowest death rate on record and is highly satisfactory.
It will be noticed that the recorded general death rate has been
