The death rates for the preceding six years are as follows:—

1900 13.7
1901 13.7
1902 13.4
This is the lowest death rate on record, and is highly satisfactory.
It will be noticed that the recorded general death rate has been
gradually falling for the last six years.
The following table gives the causes of and ages at death during
the year 1902:—
