the subject. In it, I reported that he had recently been disinfecting
the clothing of small-pox patients living in a neighbouring
parish.
I am strongly of the opinion that, if possible, the Sanitary
Authorities should endeavour to prevent other districts sending
their infectious clothes into this parish to be disinfected, and that
all clothing ought to disinfected in the parish in which the disease
is contracted, before being sent away.
Five out of the seven cases were removed to Highgate
Hospital.
SCARLET FEVER.
Scarlet Fever was very prevalent in this parish and was
with us, more or less throughout the year. In this, we were no
exception, in that scarlet fever was very much about all over the
metropolitan area. This disease was principally confined to Acton
proper, although South Acton and Acton Green had their share
of it.

The following table shows how the infectious diseases were distributed over the different parts of the parish:–
