HOUSING.
(a) Statistics.
The information asked for by the Ministry with regard to housing is contained
in the following statement. The Increase of Rent and Mortgage Interest (Restrictions)
Act, 1920, so far as regards the provisions of Section 2 (2), and the Rent
and Mortgage Interest Restrictions Act, 1923, Section 18 (1) relating to certificates
as to suitability for occupation of houses, were not taken advantage of during
the year, no application being received.
Number of new houses erected during the year:
(a) Total (including numbers given separately under (b).
(i) By the Local Authority Nil.
(ii) By other Local Authorities Nil.
(iii) By other bodies and persons 2 Blocks comprising 15 flats.
(b) With State assistance under the Housing Acts:

(c) For other purposes.

1. Inspection of dwelling-houses during the year:
(1) Total number of dwelling-houses inspected for housing
defects (under Public Health or Housing Acts) and the
number of inspections made 2,257
(2) Number of dwelling-houses (included under sub-head (i)
above) which were insptcted and recorded under the
Housing Consolidated Regulations, 1925, and the number
of inspections made—

(3) Number of dwelling-houses found to be in a state so
dangerous or injurious to health as to be unfit for
human habitation 1
(4) Number of dwelling-houses (exclusive of those referred to
under the preceding sub-heading) found not to be in
