Public Health Department,
Town Hall,
Marylebone Road, N.W.1.
5th June, 1925.
To the Mayor, Aldermen and Councillors of the Metropolitan Borough of
St. Marylebone.
Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour, as Medical Officer of Health, to submit my
Annual Report on the Health of the Borough of St. Marylebone during
the year 1924.
It is one of the series of short reports, and, in accordance with the
instructions of the Ministry of Health, contains simply a chronicle of the
principal happenings of the year and statistical information as to population,
births, deaths, etc. Any matter which appeared to call for particular
comment I have noted in the way of the report, and the "foreword" I
have devoted to a short discussion on "Food." Heie I wish to repeat
the assurances I have so often given of my great appreciation of the help
and consideration and many kindnesses shown me in connection with my
work by the Chairman (Mr. Councillor Hugh Jones) and all the Members
of the Public Health Committee.
Also I would thank the members of the staff of the Department for
their loyalty and co-operation. Throughout the year the work done by all
was up to the normal high standard.
I am,
Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
CHARLES POKTER,
Medical Oflicer of Health
