FACTORIES AND WORKSHOPS.
The total number of visits to factories, workshops and workplaces during the
year was 4,398, 684 by the women and 3,714 by the men inspectors.
The complaints received numbered 42.
The following report which the Medical Officer of Health is required to make to
the Secretary of State for the Home Department in accordance with the provisions
of Section 132 of the Factory and Workshop Act, 1901, gives, in addition to other
information, the total number of defects found and of notices served.
