PUBL1C SAN1TARY CONVEN1ENCES.
The work of superv1s1ng the publ1c san1tary conven1ences was carr1ed out
regularly, as 1n former years, by the outdoor super1ntendent and the women 1nspectors.
Reports have been per1od1cally subm1tted to and cons1dered by the Publ1c
Health Comm1ttee.
The Comm1ttee dur1ng the year cons1dered a report from M1ss Baker w1th regard
to the free ur1nette 1ntroduced 1n 1910 at Oxford C1rcus (women.s) conven1ence. 1t
was clearly shown that the prov1s1on of such free san1tary accommodat1on for women
had proved of great advantage and had been greatly apprec1ated, and that the fact of
1ts 1ntroduct1on had produced only a comparat1vely small effect upon the rece1pts.
The Comm1ttee therefore determ1ned to make further prov1s1on of th1s k1nd and
1nstruct1ons were g1ven for the 1ntroduct1on of an add1t1onal ur1nette at Oxford C1rcus,
and of one 1n each of the other women.s conven1ences, v1z., at Portland Road and
Marylebone Road.
