The disinfection of premises was mainly carried out by means of formic
aldehyde gas, produced by an Alformant lamp burning 30 formalin tablets per
1,000 cubic feet of space.
The total number of rooms disinfected and the reasons for doing so are shown
in the table headed "Reasons for Disinfection."
In 1909, the number of rooms disinfected was 809 and of articles 11,524.
The number and nature of the articles dealt with in 1910 are shown in the following tabular statement:—
