The week ending August 8th was fairly dry and fine. Minimum
temperature, 47.0° ; maximum, 77.0°; mean, 64.6°. Winds, S.W. On
one day only rain fell (0.31 inch). Sunshine in Regent's Park equal to 55.5
per cent. of the possible. Mean barometer 29.9 inches.
The week ending August 15th was unsettled and wet. Minimum
temperature, 47.0°; maximum, 72.2°; mean, 60.9. Winds, S.W. and
S.E. On three days rain fell to the amount of 1.3 inch. The sunshine was
about 38 per cent. Mean barometer (low) 29.6 inches.
The week ending August 22nd was also wet. Minimum temperature,
49.2°; maximum, 69.2; mean, 61.1°. Winds, S.W. and N.E. On four
days rain fell (0.39 inch). The sunshine was equal to 46 per cent. Mean
barometer 29.7 inches.
The week ending August 29th was unsettled, rainy and with much
electrical disturbance. Minimum temperature, 46.2°; maximum, 69.0°;
mean, 59.4°. Winds, S.W. and W.N.W. On three days rain fell (1.43 inch).
Mean barometer 29.9 inches.
The week ending September 5th was similar in weather to the preceding
week, that is, unsettled, thundery and wet. Minimum temperature, 51.5°;
maximum, 81.0° ; mean, 66.0°. Winds, S.W. and W.N.W. On three days
rain fell (2.37 inches). Sunshine, 44.6 per cent. Mean barometer, 29'9
inches.
The week ending September 12th was still unsettled. Minimum
temperature, 40.0°; maximum, 67.0; mean, 55.3. Winds, N.NW. On
three days rain fell (0.71 inches). Mean barometer, 29.8 inches.
The week ending September 19th was rainless. Minimum temperature,
40.0° ; maximum, 64.5° ; mean, 55.0. Winds, N.N.E. and S.S.E Sunshine,
44 per cent. Mean barometer, 30.0 inches.
