June Quarter.
April was bright and showery. Minimum temperature,
29.0°; maximum, 60.9°; mean 46.7°. On 16 days more or
less rain fell, the total fall being 2.47 inches. The winds were
for the most part N.W. and S.W. The sunshine varied from
18 to 55%.
May was a somewhat wet month, 19 rainy days yielding
2.2 inches. Minimum temperature, 37.5°; maximum, 78.2°;
mean 56.3°. Winds variable; sunshine from 8 to 58%.
The rainfall for June was considerable; in eight days no
less than 6.23 inches of rain falling. The minimum temperature
was 40°; maximum, 85.0°; mean 59.0°. The sunshine varied
from 16 to 59%.
September Quarter.
Although there were only 11 rainy days in the five July
weeks, yet the total rainfall was heavy, viz., 5.4 inches.
Minimum temperature, 45.0°; maximum, 86.0°; mean, 64.6°.
The winds were variable but for the most part westerly.
The sunshine registered varied from 25 to 75%.
August was also an unusually wet month. There were 11
days of rain during four weeks, the total fall equalling 3.43
inches. Minimum temperature, 46.0°; maximum, 77.0°;
mean 41.5°. Wind, S.W. Sunshine from 8 to 56%.
September was a little drier. There were 6 rainy days
in the first two weeks, giving a fall of 3.08 inches, while the
last fortnight was rainless. The minimum temperature
was 40.0°; maximum 81.0°; mean, 59.2. Winds, N.N.W.
and N.E. Sunshine up to 45%.
December Quarter.
In October there were no less than 25 rainy days. The
rainfall was not, however, great, considering the number of
wet days, the fall amounting to 3.73 inches. Minimum
temperature, 55.0°; maximum 68.0°; mean, 56.3°. Winds,
S.W. Sunshine from 8 to 27%.
November was free from fog. Minimum temperature,
34.2°; maximum, 55.0°; mean, 47.8°. 1.6 inch of rain fell
in 10 days. Winds W. and N.W. Sunshine from 7 to 20%.
December was fairly free from fog. There were 10 rainy
days, giving a rainfall of 2.44 inches. There were a few frosty
days, but no hard weather of any account and no snow. As
usual sunshine was generally deficient. Under six hours of
bright sunshine. being registered in Regent's Park.
