Births and Deaths.
During the four weeks ending November 29th there have been registered
246 births and 184 deaths. These births and deaths are divided among the
five sub-districts as set forth in Table III. Sixty-five of the deaths were
extra-parochial, as follows :— .

The birth and death-rates, as deduced from the month's statistics, are
as follows :—
All Souls, birth-rate 16.9; death-rate 10.6.
Rectory, birth-rate 17.7; death-rate 18.3.
St. Mary, birth-rate 22.3: death-rate 17.9.
Christ Church, birth-rate 36.5: death-rate 20.7.
St. John, birth-rate 22.3; death-rate 24.8.
The whole district, birth-rate 24.0; death-rate 17.9.
The average death-rates for five years (1896 to 1901) for the corresponding
period were as follows:—All Souls, 13.0; Rectory, 21.6; St. Mary, 18.6;
Christ Church, 16.5; St. John, 18.9; the whole district, 17.0.
