These 1,682 workrooms are registered to accommodate
about 15,000 workers, and during the season many of the rooms
are occupied to their extreme limit. 914 businesses are here
represented, of which about 40 are laundries, while the remainder
are principally dressmaking, millinery, and tailoring businesses
with a few miscellaneous trades.
