Of the 100 deaths from cancer, 56 were of females and 44 of males,
but on this point it must be borne in mind that the population of the
Borough was found at the census to consist of 52,688 females and
32,807 males, and thus for this year Cancer was more frequent in males
than in females. In 43 cases the patients were over 65 years of age.
