The total number of deaths, therefore, amongst persons belonging
to Hampstead amounted to 951.
Death rate.
The death-rate, calculated upon the total number of deaths (whether
of resident or non-resident persons) occurring in the Borough during
the year, was 14.5 per 1000 of the population ; but after subtracting
from the total deaths registered the deaths of non-resident persons dying
in Hampstead, and adding the deaths of Hampstead residents who died
outside the district, the recorded death-rate is found to be 10.8 per
1000 of the population, as compared with the rate of 10.0 per 1000 of
the population in 1912. The average recorded death-rate for the five
years 1908-1912 was 9.8.
