UNSOUND FOOD.
A summons was issued, following the seizure of half a pig's
head from the premises of Messrs. J. Best, Ltd., 5, Bradmore
Lane, which was diseased and unfit for the food of man.
The meat was submitted to the Magistrate at the West
London Police Court, who condemned the same and gave an
Order for its destruction.
On the hearing of the summons, the Magistrate imposed a
penalty of £2.
Two boxes of cod fish (weighing about 8 stones each) were
submitted by a vendor in Bradmore Market for examination.
The fish were found to be in a decomposing condition and
unfit for the food of man.
An inspection of the stallholder's premises was made when
two boxes of ling (weighing about 6 stones each) were also
found to be unfit for the food of man.
The fish, which had been purchased from Messrs. Leleu &
Morris, of Billingsgate, at 7 o'clock in the morning, was submitted
to a Justice of the Peace, who condemned the same
and gave an Order for its destruction.
