Cesspools.—During the year one cesspool was found and
closed.
General Sanitary Administration.—The general sanitary
condition of the Borough has been improved to some extent.
Whilst a large number of notices has been served during
the year the overcrowded conditions have not been relieved to
any great extent. These conditions are found in the course
of inspection, but it is difficult to take action owing to the
shortage of accommodation. The Housing schemes of the
London County Council and Borough Council have provided
many houses, but overcrowded conditions still exist in the
Borough.
