AUTOMATIC VENDING MACHINES
The increase in the number of vending machines still continues. With hot and cold beverage
machines used in many office buildings where other catering facilities are not provided, it cannot
be too strongly emphasised that regular servicing and cleansing of vending machines is absolutely
essential. Following last year's unsatisfactory findings in relation to these machines in the City,
a survey was carried out during the current year and the results were somewhat disturbing. It
would appear that there is scope for improvement in the design of these machines by the manufacturers
and in the servicing arrangements on the part of those persons responsible for the
installation.
