3. Accidents. Any accident to a person happening in premises subject to registration and preventing
that person from carrying out his normal duties for three or more days must be notified.
This is to help the local Authority to detect breaches of the Act but mainly to enable inspectors
to offer experienced advice to prevent their recurrence under similar circumstances. Long-term
investigation statistics gained from notifications will enable the Ministry to assess the need for
further preventive measures (if any).
With regard to shop premises all the foregoing statements apply with the additional proviso
that is shop employees eat meals within the shop they must have a suitable room provided for
this purpose.
