It was also recommended that the sausages be wrapped and that the necessary declaration concerning the presence of preservatives be incorporated in the wrapper. This recommendation was subsequently put into effect.

* Bread and Butter SandwichInformalContained an extensive red discolouration on the buttered surfaces due to the presence of finely ground particles of iron oxide.From investigations and further inquiries it ia fairly certain that this colouring arose during the preparation of the sandwich in the complainant's home.

* Corned Beef (opened)InformalThis can showed extensive sul-phiding and rusting on the interior surface, and the contents, which had partly dried out became discoloured, and were unfit for consumption.This can was old stock and there was probably a latent defect in the original canning process.
Cough SyrupInformalContained Vitamin C, 0.71 per cent, contrary to the declaration on the label which was Vitamin C, 0.21 per cent.Written representations to the manufacturers regarding excess vitamin "C".
