During the year 121 inspections were made in connection with the sale of milk in order
to see that statutory requirements were complied with. Observations have been made
from time to time with regard to milk distribution from barrows and vehicles. One roundsman,
who was seen to fill a bottle with milk in the street, a contravention of the Milk and
Dairies Order, which requires a person who delivers milk in bottles to cause every such
bottle to be filled and closed on registered premises, was prosecuted and fined £1.

THE PUBLIC HEALTH (DRIED MILK) REGULATIONS, 1923 AND 1927.
Thirteen samples of different brands of condensed milk were purchased for analysis
and all found to conform to the requirements of the regulations in all respects.
REGISTERED PREMISES.
Butter Factories.-Samples taken at these premises were all certified to be genuine.
Two factories are now on the register, one additional application having been approved
during the year.
Wholesale Dealers in Margarine and Margarine Cheese.—Four new applications for
registration were received during the year.
Artificial Cream Act, 1929.—No additions have been made to the register.
