appeared the well-known judgment of Mr. Justice Stephen, which, in the case of a child's body having been burned by its father contrary to the order of the Thompson at the opening of Golden Green Crematorium, 22nd November, 1902. Vide "Transactions of Creamtion Society of England, 1903." p. 31.

Now that facilities are being provided in increasing numbers, doubtless the economic
and social advantages of cremation will be more and more appreciated. It is many years
since legislation affecting cremation has been the subject of any revision, and this aspect
is now, I believe, receiving consideration by the Federation of Cremation Authorities.
Any alteration, however, in the investigation which now takes place preparatory to the
question of the cremation of any body must receive the most careful consideration, as
although one would naturally desire to remove what to many, I know, appears to be unnecessary
restriction, one must not overlook the necessity for the preservation of the fullest
control, in order that criminal advantage may not be taken of this method of disposal of
the dead.
