health service survey.
During the year the Minister of Health conducted a survey of the public health services
administered by the City Corporation, and the report subsequently issued indicated that
a satisfactory standard of efficiency and progress is being maintained by the Corporation in
discharge of their functions relating to public health, and appreciation was expressed of
the fact that certain of the services maintained are of great importance and value to a much
larger population than that resident or working in the City. Appreciation was also expressed
of the close co-operation which exists between the Corporation and the Authorities of
St. Bartholomew's Hospital, whereby valuable services are rendered by that Hospital in
the provision of the necessary clinics and the Hospital's special resources of all kinds for
diagnosis and treatment are placed at the disposal of the Corporation.
One or two minor suggestions on matters of detail made by the Minister have received
appropriate consideration.
