WELL WATER SUPPLY IN THE CITY.
The investigation into the character of the water as obtained from wells sunk in
the City has been continued during the year.
In all, 12 separate City buildings have been added to the already large number
that derive their supply of this necessary element from this source. In 10 of these,
new wells were sunk; and in the two other cases, existing and disused wells were
re-bored to the water bearing strata, and fitted with modern appliances for pumping.
Samples of the water from all these wells were taken and submitted to Dr. Teed
for chemical analysis, and a satisfactory report received in each case.
