WORKSHOPS.
The inspection and re-inspection was proceeded with as usual, but most of
the work done this year was in periodical re-inspections. The work done in
the past is beginning to tell, so that more time should be available in the
future for initial inspections.
As in the case of factories, there is nothing of special importance to report.
H.M. Factory Inspector forwarded notification of the establishment of 224
new workshops—four of these were not in the City, and were forwarded to
the proper quarter, some were already on the register, whilst others had ceased
to be occupied, although the Inspector's visit was made almost immediately
after the receipt of the notices.
