Cancer—The cancer death-rate for all ages was 2.50 per 1,000 in 1964—the highest
figure since 1960. Cancer is, however, largely a disease of the later half of life and in order
to eliminate variations caused by a changing age/sex composition of the population rates
for specific age/sex groups are shown below:
