carry out treatment on the doctors' instructions and there is co-operation with health
visitors and other social workers. A common-room is available where there are books
and other information for reference and where conferences, film shows and informal
discussions take place. The centre is the first of its kind in the country to provide so wide
a service to local general practitioners and has been established by the Council in collaboration
with the South East Metropolitan Regional Hospital Board, the Camberwell Hospital
Management Committee, the Nuffield Foundation and the Sir Halley Stewart Trust.
